Frequently asked questions
In AR mode the sky doesn’t move or is tilted.
The compass needs to be calibrated. Move your device a few times in a figure-eight and keep away from magnets, metal and speakers. Also allow location access: without it, iOS can only align to magnetic north.
I don’t see any aircraft.
Aircraft data comes live from the internet. Without a connection, outside receiver coverage (e.g. over the open sea) or during a short overload of the data service, the app shows “waiting for flight data” and retries automatically. Also check that aircraft are enabled in Settings.
Why do I see so few satellites at night?
Satellites don’t shine by themselves. You only see them when sunlight hits them, typically in the hours after sunset and before sunrise. In the middle of the night most are in Earth’s shadow. With “Only show what would be visible” (Settings) you can also show the invisible ones.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. Stars, constellations, the Milky Way, Sun, Moon and planets are calculated entirely on your device. Satellites use the most recently loaded orbit data, or a bundled copy if nothing else is available. Only aircraft and maps need a connection.
My location is wrong.
Tap the place name in the top left. There you can use your current location, enter coordinates or search for another city.
Where does the data come from?
All sources and licenses are listed in the app under Settings → “Sources & Licenses”.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
